Soil consolidation is a crucial part within the cultivation process. It is the roller and rear implement which makes the difference and allows the most precise adjustment to specific requirements of the various soil types and conditions. In addition, the lifting capacity of the tractor needs to be considered when looking for the right combination.

Actipress Single Roller

“Soil consolidation and levelling, either after harvesting for an optimum germination of weeds or to reduce the soil porosity and limit evaporation in dry conditions in preparation for a firm seedbed and a weatherproof surface, are just some of the major tasks of the rear implements,” explains Guillaume Pignon, Product Manager. “Due to the more compact design and the reduced weight, the Actipress Single can be a good alternative to the well-known Actipress Twin Roller, especially for three-point mounted implements.”

To reconcile the tasks of seedbed preparation and keeping the soil structure for a weatherproof surface and reduced risk of soil erosion, often a more corrugated profile is needed. Therefore, the Actipress Single roller has been developed to leave a ridged soil profile in light to medium soil conditions. To adapt for operation in more sticky conditions, blades can be added also as carbide blades for more abrasive soil.

The Actipress Single roller is available on the full range of Kverneland cultivators and compact disc harrows.

The Following Harrow

For best results, all Kverneland rollers (single and double) can now be equipped with a following finger harrow. With a common pitch of 170mm and fingers of Ø12 x 450mm, the finger harrow will perform a weeding action behind the roller by keeping roots on the surface. It also allows for even distribution of straw and residues and a perfectly levelled soil surface in seedbed preparation.
