Kverneland Qualidisc 21000 T

Due to the aggressive discs and the considerable weight (up to 150 kg/disc), the Qualidisc 21000 T ensure an excellent working quality even under dry conditions. The ground is completely cut, the stubble broken and correctly mixed on the surface for a good emergence of weeds and volunteer cereal seeds.

The large disc diameter of Ø600mm achieves high quality working results from 2cm to 15cm depth and allow operation also with big volumes of soil and residues (e.g. maize).

Long lasting discs with a constant cutting angle
The conical discs are of 6mm thickness and Ø600mm diameter. They are the same as on the Qualidisc Pro and ensure a constant cutting angle independent of depth and disc diameter.

The discs are given a special heat treatment for a long durability and strength with a very high hardness of 55-58 HRC. Thus the machine's longevity is increased and the maintenance costs reduced.

Standard and big notched discs
Alternatively to the standard discs, Kverneland proposes discs with big notches to enhance the rotation in fluffy soil and for a better self-cleaning of the disc with more than 20% of clay. Small notches on this disc keeps the very good cutting quality. A combination of standard disc in the front disc gang and big notched discs in the rear is also possible.

Adjusting a machine must be fast and easy, especially when working conditions change. Fields can vary due to different soil type, moisture, compaction or field traffic, etc.

The setting of the working depth on the Qualidisc T 12.25m is easily done. A pre-setting of the working depth is fixed at only two scales. One is mounted at the gauge wheel and the second at the rear roller, both directly on the left-hand side of the machine, where the driver leaves the cab. Gauge wheels and the rear roller are adjusted separately to maintain the balance between the two rows of discs. The depth adjustment is steered hydraulically from the cab. In this way, the working depth can be changed in a few seconds on the go, even if the driver is not skilled. 

Connecting the Qualidisc 21000 T to the tractor is also straightforward. For the hydraulics, one double-acting valve is needed for the transport wheels. Another double-acting valve, or alternatively a load sensing system, is necessary to steer the folding process, the headland lifting and the pressure adjustment for perfect ground contour following.

Control Traffic Farming

Controlled traffic farming (CTF) is a management system to protect the soil against damages caused by heavy or repeated machinery passes.

It confines all machinery loads to the least possible area of permanent traffic lanes which are kept in exactly the same place over the years.

The main objective of Controlled Traffic Farming is to improve soil health as prerequisite of save crop establishment and yields. Healthy soil is characterized by a stable soil porosity with more space for water and air. Improved water infiltration reduces soil erosion and increases the water availability to the crop whereas the drainage capacity avoids waterlogging. All this will safeguard the supply of nutrients to the plants resulting in a strong crop rooting and plant development for safe yields.

Moreover, CTF extends the timeline of farming operation as the permanent tracks allow access to the field also when conditions are not perfect. Reduced fuel consumption and power requirement of the tractor, furthermore, increase efficiency and sustainability.

• Each angled arm is fitted with a large maintenance-free double ball bearing and 35 mm axle. This high-quality bearing is able to carry heavy radial and axial loads.
• Special protection on the side of the arm is achieved by a special seal of 5 sealing lips and by the joint protecting the bearing.
• On the other side the disc is protected against dust by an O-ring.
• The disc hub is fixed onto the arm by a bolt and special washers that prevent any loosening. The bolt is protected against soil by its position inside the arm.
